Apple’s ‘F1: The Movie’ said to hit $500 million in box office

Apple’s F1: The Movie, starring Brad Pitt, will likely hit the $500M revenue milestone for the final weekend in July, according to industry trade sources.

Both the new Superman remake from Warner Brothers and F1 will hit or exceed $500 million in box-office revenue by the time receipts are counted for July. CNBC projects that Superman, which has been out only two weeks, will squeak ahead of F1 with $502 million in global box office receipts, citing industry tracker Comscore.

F1 has achieved the highest gross ticket sales of any of Apple’s theatrical releases. It hit $400 million in mid-July, and shows no signs of slowing down.
