AirPods Pro & Beats Studio Buds move to new firmware versions

Apple has released new firmware updates for AirPods and Beats earbuds, continuing its steady rollout of bug fixes and performance improvements across its audio lineup.

AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3 are receiving firmware version 8B41, while Beats Studio Buds are being updated to version 1B211. The release updates AirPods Pro models from version 8B40 and Beats Studio Buds from version 1B204.

Apple hasn’t disclosed what’s included in the update. The company typically limits AirPods firmware release notes to broad descriptions of bug fixes and performance improvements.

Installing the update remains a largely automatic process. Users need to place their AirPods in the charging case, connect the case to power, and keep the earbuds within Bluetooth range of a paired iPhone, iPad, or Mac connected to Wi-Fi.
