Apple may soon let Douyin Pay users buy from the China App Store

Apple is currently testing Douyin Pay support, a mobile payment service owned by TikTok’s parent company, for the China App Store.

Douyin is, to put it plainly, China’s version of TikTok — ByteDance owns both platforms. However, Douyin is exclusive to mainland China and Hong Kong and is subject to Chinese censorship and regulation.

Just like TikTok, Douyin is a wildly popular app. It sees more than 766 million monthly active users.
