Release candidates are what Apple considers the final builds of its operating system updates, with few or no changes anticipated before seeding the final release.
Apple has a beta-testing track for its milestone update versions, putting iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26 to the test. However, it’s also got a second track for testing updates to its current-gen operating systems too.
