Aside from a trivial update to add Image Playground in March 2025, Apple’s camera app for multicam video users hasn’t seen a significant improvement since its launch in July 2024. Now, however, Apple has announced version 2.0 with a range of improvements for both professional and consumer users.
“Final Cut Camera 2.0 [introduces] game-changing support for ProRes RAW and genlock on the all-new iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max,” said Apple in a statement. “The update also adds intuitive new manual adjustments for the Center Stage front camera available on the new iPhone family for complete creative control, as well as seamless integration with Live Multicam in Final Cut Pro for iPad.”
