New Macs, iPhone launch date, AI Music, & Tim Cook on the AppleInsider Podcast

Apple announced the iPhone launch date, plus the M6 processor for an updated Mac mini right alongside the M5 Ultra in a Mac Studio, plus more layoffs impact the Vision Products Group and AI teams, all on the AppleInsider Podcast.

We all expected that Apple would launch the new iPhones on September 9, 2026, but it was only this week that the company confirmed it. Of course, it didn’t confirm anything else, so we still have a while to wait before we know if the folding iPhone is coming, and if only the Pro model iPhones will be launched this time.

Then the global RAM shortage may have caused prices to go up and inventory to go down, but that didn’t stop Apple from releasing new acs. There’s also a new $9 polishing cloth, which might actually be Tim Cook’s last new product release as CEO.
